Well another wonderful week in the Great
California Long Beach Mission. This week was kind of rough. One of our
investigators told us this week that he would like so much to read the
Book of Mormon to help him understand it. We will continue to invite
him to activities at church and continue to invite him to come to church
with us in the hopes that he sees the light of the Gospel.
We
had another investigator, Bertha, who asked a question about the Word
of Wisdom a few weeks ago and we thought that that would be the best
lesson to teach her. When we invited her to live the Word of Wisdom she
said that she already was trying to live it. She had started drinking
coffee every other day rather than every day. It was very cool to see
her change and have faith enough to try before we even ask/tell her
about the commandment of the Word of Wisdom. She also went to Women's
conference on Saturday.
This week we had the primary program at church on Sunday,
which means that the children from ages 8 to 11 sing and talk in
sacrament meeting about things that they have learned over the year. It
was so good.
Women's conference, as many of you know, was this Saturday.
Women's conference is where the women ages 8 and up meet together to
hear from the General Authorities. We heard from women serving in the
Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidency. One of my favorite
talks was by Sister Carole M Stephens called the Master Healer. I love
how she spoke of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it is through
Christ that we can be healing and how we can find comfort and peace.
