Huntington Beach for life!!!!

Dear family and Friends,

Another Transfer has come to an end and another one will soon begin. I am pleased to say that I will be staying in Huntington Beach. I will be staying with Sister Castleberry. We will be staying in the Seapoint Ward. Sister Henry will be going to Long Beach (I believe) Her companion will be Sister Glenn. It is sad to see her go but the Lord calls us and we go where we are called.

This week was amazing. We quite a few less active lessons this week. We went on splits with some ward missionaries. Where we were able to see people of the ward that we had not yet been able to meet and where we saw them. This week we invited to go to a relief society activity where we met some members that we have not yet met. It will be continued this week as we strive to meet the members of our Ward and invite them to do missionary work also.

We have an awesome investigator named Caeden. He is a junior in High school. He is progressing well in the Gospel. He has even come with us to see some members of the ward who live in an Assisted living facility. He was a member referral. He goes to Seminary too.
Ken a recent convert in the area got the Aaronic Preisthood on Sunday. Ken has also come to lessons with us. It has been a week full of miracles.

We prayed for the spirit to guide us where we needed to go and we needed to see during the day. As we prayed specifically for this we went to the people we felt impressed about who to go and see and it was just at the right moment they needed us there. God know his children and he know who needs his Gospel. Alma 26:37 "...God is mindful of all people..." and he will bless us with what we need when we need it. He will help us when we call upon him. He wants to talk to us. We can communicate with him through prayer. He knows what we need even before we know that we need it, we only need to ask him.  He will answer us, we only need to listen to His answer.

I love you all and I hope that you have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Love you all,

Sister McGarry III

The Tabernacle and the Love of Christ

Dear Family and Friends,

This week has been one of many miracles. I have seen so much this week. My testimony of the Gospel has grown leaps and mounds. The first miracle that happened was the tabernacle, (last week I sent a picture on separate email, I believe...I will send them again in this email just in case the pictures didn't get to everyone). I have learned so much about the Tabernacle of Moses this week. I learned just how much it points towards to Savior and His Atoning Sacrifice. I saw that the Lord was showing the people of Israel that Christ is the way.  It was very cool to see how much the tabernacle and the temple are alike. It has been so amazing to see the word of the Lord in the Old Testament comes to life, as the Old Testament in the hardest of Testaments to understand.

This week we also got to have a BYU professor come to talk to us about the tabernacle.  Brother Donald Parry. He teaches Hebrew classes at BYU. He told us a little bit about the Tabernacle and also how the Book of Mormon has some traces of Hebrew in it. I love this wonderful opportunity that I have had to learn from him.

This week I have been able to see that the Lord is mindful of each and every one of His Children. I love the people of the Huntington Beach Stake. Don't get me wrong I have been loving them the moments that I began the Lord work in Huntington Beach almost a year ago. But this week has changed me, I have seen the LOVE that CHRIST has for the people I am currently serving and the people that I have served in this Wonderful Stake. I LOVE HUNTINGTON BEACH!!! I love the people so much more than I ever thought I could. As we pray to see ALL people through God's eyes we will see feel of His love for them and when we feel His love for them we cannot help but smile at them when we see them. HE LOVES THEM!!! and he loves us too. Love you all!

He is our Foundation

Dear Family and Friends,

This week my Companions and I have seen the work of both adversary and the Lord this week. The adversary is going to try to destroy our faith and to pull us down to his level. At times when he tries to do this we must ask ourselves what is our Foundation. In Helaman 5:12 we learn where our foundation  should be..."And now, my sons (and daughters) remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that w when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."  Our foundation is Christ. He is the light of the world and He is the living water. This week we have seen Satan try very had to stop the work from happening in our area, but he cannot stop the Lord's work. He will hasten His work in His time. We were told in General Conference this past October and have been told before that time is NOW!!! The Lord is hastening his work right now. It will only hasten as members and missionaries work together to bring the children of God to Him once again. We have seen so much happen in our area this week. We have met so many wonderful people. We are working on getting to know the members in the Ward, which has been super fun, because we are all new to the Ward and we get to introduce ourselves.

This week we went on Splits with the a Sister in the ward who is leaving on mission this week. She is the only member in her family. I was able to go with her. She is amazing the Lord is preparing people everywhere. She will be serving in the Salt Lake City East Mission. It was amazing to hear her share her testimony of the Gospel.

I have been able to see the Hand of God this week. He is mindful of us He loves us and He will help us accomplish His work. We are only the instruments in His hands  to bring to pass His work and His glory which in to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man". We must be willing to change to become what he wants us to become. If we are not willing to change then he cannot use us to accomplish His purposes, He wants us to change to become what he wants us to become. He is the Master of our lives, He sees all things. He knows what we need and when we need it. I love you all and Hope that you have a great week.

Love,
