Transfers

Dear Family and Friends,
Another Transfer had come to an end. This transfer was a 7 week tranfser. My new area will be the Cordata park ward, I am still serving in the Huntington Beach Stake. My new companion will be Sister Po'uliva'ati. She is from New Zealand. She goes home at the end of this upcoming transfer. She is really cool.
This week Sister Gardner and I were able to see a lot of miracles. We were able to meet with an investigator that we haven't been able to see in a while and were able to teach her part of the Plan of Salvation. We had a  great week.
This past week Sister Gardner and I were asked to give a talk in Sacrament meeting  I spoke on Finding Joy in Christlike Service and Sister Gardner spoke of the Atonement (the suffering  Christ in Gethsemane, on the cross and later when he was resurrected to give the opportunity to return to live with God again). I love how service goes along with Charity. When we Serve we are show our love for God and for those around us. We each have been blessed with the things we need. I would like to invite each of you to think of something that you have been blessed with and share it with someone. "Serve your neighbor day!" Christ taught us that in the parable of the Good Samaritan who our neighbor is. Our neighbors are those around us who need our help. We only need to ask our selves are we ready to help. We should always be ready to help those in need. Let us be as Ephraim from the movie Ephraim rescue and say "We are ready to help them now."
I know that God is mindful of us. I know that he loves us.  I know that he has a plan for each of us and that he places us where he needs us at different times of our life. I love you all and hope that you have a great week.

Love,
Sister McGarry III

Enduring to the End

Dear Family and Friends,

This week have been very difficult but it have been one of miracles as well. It was difficult because we had a hard time teaching our investigators this week. It seemed like every set we had fell through. We had more members come put with us this week.

The Miracle of the week is that we found a new investigator, We had gone by to see an investigator and had planned to knock on his street as back-up. We were about to see our investigator but we were unable to teach him. He was working on taxes when we went by. We walked back to the car to double check our plans and while we were sitting in the car, I had the thought to go my a less active member. So we went by to see her, her son answered to door and told us that she was not feeling good. But he asked us if he could talk to us sometime. We told him that we had time if he wanted to talk to us. We taught him and picked him up as a new investigator. We invited him to church, and told him we could find a ride it he needs us to find him one. We found him a ride and he came. He told us that he liked it.

We also went to see another less active  member and we had an amazing lesson with her. Usually when we go over to see her we have a hard time getting the lesson started, because she loves to talk. When we went by this week we started the lesson off right away and she sat down and listened to it. It was amazing.I was a great lesson. She was able to learned from it and she could also relate. We watched Elder Jeffery R Hollands talk from Conference "Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders Among You."

I know that as we endure through our trials, that we will see blessings. God is waiting to bless us. He loves us and wants us to return to him. If we will seek him, he will find us. I know that he loves us and will helps us. I know that as we turn to the Lord he will help us. I know that as we endure to the end that we will see blessings and that you weaknesses will become strengths. I know that we will learn and become the person God knows we can and wants us to become.
I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the Gospel and for this opportunity I have to share it with others. Thanks for all the love and support. I love you all.

Love,
Sister McGarry III

Learning and Seeing Miracles

Dear Family and Friends,

This week I learned humility. I have learned that in order to be humble we must look at what is not going right in our lives and ask what can I do. And if we don't know then we ask someone who knows, someone who sees. I am grateful that I get this opportunity to learn and grow in the gospel. I have recently re watched President Thomas S. Monson's talk titled Choices. As I was re watching it I reflected on his reference to Alice in Wonderland and how Alice didn't know where she wanted to go. But that we know where we want to go. We all want to return to like with God again. (A simple truth that I realized I tend to take for granted.) I know that God is there for us. He loves us and knows us.

This week we had an amazing week. We had a recently returned missionary come out with us on Saturday. We saw so many miracles. We were able to see a former that we have been trying to meet with. When we went by on Saturday we were able to teach her and find out her concerns and how we can best help her. She is really cool. We were also able to see our investigator who is closest to progressing, the member that went out with us. Talked to him about the spirit, coming to church and about baptism. She mentioned to my companion and I that when she mentioned baptism she saw him tear up. Then at dinner last night we were able to discover what member would best followship him.
Thank for all of you love and support. I love you all. Have a great week!

The Atonement and resurrection of Christ

Dear Family and Friends,

These past few weeks I was putting a lot of focus in my personal study on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. I have learned quite a lot about the atonement as I have studied it in personal study and as I have testified of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As I was studying atonement I read in the Teachings of the Prophet: Howard W. Hunter and he said something along the lines of: " Of all the miracles Jesus Christ performed while He was here on the earth the greatest miracle He performed was the Atonement and the Resurrection." As I thought about this I thought back on my life and the role that the Atonement has played in my life. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has played a major role in my life. Like Jacob said the Atonement has made me who I am today.
The resurrection brings me great comfort in knowing that we can see our loved ones again and that whatever suffering or illness they  experienced in this life will no long be there.
This week I had to opportunity to go one exchanges. I went with Sister Foster. She helped me a lot. I learned how I can make each transfer of my mission better in order to help me acheive my mission vision, which is: Leave it all behind me, to leave the mission field knowing that I left it all behind me.
I know that the atonement can help us  fo forgive others and to forgive ourselves (as was it spoken by one of the general authorities at conference this weekend). The Atonement of Jesus Christ can bring peace to our minds and hearts. As we turn to the Savior for comfort, we will not be left comfortless. He is ALAWYS ready and WILLING to comfort us. He can bring peace and comfort in a way that no one else can. I know that it is the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I know that we can be washed clean fro our sins  and that the Atonement it real ( Just like Jacob testified).  I love you all and hope that you have a great week.

Love,
Sister McGarry III
