Dear Family and Friends,
Transfer have come up again.  I will be staying in Cordata Park and Huntington Beach for yet another six weeks. My companion will be Sister Cotrim.
Debbie was Baptized on Saturday. It was so good. I have been able to watch her grow so much. I am so happy to be here.  She is so bright. I am excited to stay here in Cordata Park to see the work continue to move forward.
Other investigators;
Bertha is came to Debbie's Baptism on Saturday. It was so good for her to be able to see the baptism. She also came to Sacrament meeting.  We have been trying to get her to come to church for the longest time. We taught her about Keep the Sabbath day Holy and she said it makes sense now.
Mark was a referral that we recieved from the missionary referral system. We texted him to see if they was another time that  we could come by to see him. We  contacted him and taught him that day.
Set another time that we to see him.

We will find Peace in His Outstretched Arms

Dear Family and Friends,
I was quite shocked when I received a phone call from Sister Patterson on Tuesday Morning. She  passed on the news that my Grandma Ruth finished her life here and went to see Grandpa Dell Monday night. It was a hard call to receive honestly. I am so grateful for my wonderful companion who watched my facial expression as I heard this news. She put her herself into my shoes and felt the pain.  She even cried longer than I did that morning. I have felt peace this entire week. I know that Grandma Ruth is in a better place. I am felt the Lord's love surrounding me this week. I have learned so much from my Grandmother just as Jacob said she was/is an amazing woman. She taught me to love all people. She taught me how to love. Her example is one that I will always remember.
I am so happy that I have been able to serve the Lord at this time. There is one other place I would rather be. I know that God has a purpose for all things. I am happy because I know that my Grandma is no longer in pain, she is free. I am so happy for the Plan of Salvation that God have given us. He will send angel to guide us and to lift us up. He will send us a peace that we cannot find anywhere else.
Now to report on the Lord's Work in the Cordata Park ward:
Debbie is getting baptized on Saturday. She is so prepared by the Lord. I have loved watching her change and grow in the Gospel. I am so happy that I have been able to be an instrument is God's hands and to help her enter into the convent of Baptism. I  have been able to see her change and to see her enthusiasm to be baptized and it has been a testimony builder for me knowing that God is preparing His Children everywhere.
Bertha is an investigator my companion and I picked up a few weeks ago. We have been able to teach her about the Plan of Salvation. My companion while on exchanges was able to set a baptismal date with her for September 24th. We will continue to prepare her for this date.  She has very strong faith in Christ and has a desire to change her life for the better.
As I mentioned earlier we also went on exchanges this week, I learned and saw miracles on exchanges. I went on exchanges with Sister Poulson. She is a Greenie! I loved watching her enthusiasm about sharing the Gospel.
We were able able to see a miracle yesterday night, we went by a less active member to try and see him. But we ended up talked to his daughter who is also a member of the church. We shared with her Alma 7:11-13 and the Spirit was so strong, we invited her to pray and ask Heavenly Father if he is there for her. I know that He knows us.
I know that God loves each of His children and that His plan is a perfect plan. He knows us. He can help us. He is waiting for us to come unto Him. As we come unto Christ we will find peace in His loving embrace. I know that the Plan of Salvation is real. I am grateful for the Knowledge of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, which tells us that Families are Forever.

There is a Purpose for all Things in Gods Work

Dear Family and Friends,

This week my companion and I had an interesting week. We saw many Miracles and have been able to see the hand of God.

Miracle number 1:  We had made brownies on Wednesday and was going to bring the Ward coorolation, but that was cancelled.   There is a Spanish Elder who loves brownies we asked him if he wanted the brownie. We gave them (The Spanish Elders) the brownies the following day, they ended up giving us a referral. but there is a catch this. The referral was for a woman named Carla who is in the States to take an English. That she thought started in August...but it actually starts in September. I turns out that on her way here she met a Sister Missionary who was going home after her mission. This sister missionary started talking to her and she said that she felt something different about this sister missionary. The two women added each other on Facebook and continued talking. Carla is from Brazil, Rio de Janerio (where the olympics are happening right now). She speaks Portuguese. For those of you who may have forgotten or who haven't seen my previous emails. My Companion Sister Cotrim is also from Brazil and speaks Portuguese. Carla lives in the Seapoint Ward right now. But my companion is the only missionary in the mission who speaks Portuguese. We met her at the church last night (A member picked her up and dropped her off there) and taught the the Restoration. The miracle of the story is I don't know very much Portuguese or Spanish. But during the lesson while my companion was talking to Carla and visa versa I understood some of the words they were saying. We were able to teach with the Spirit and help her to understand a little more about the Restoration and why that was so important. Through this experience I learned that truly has a purpose for all things. God knows His children he knows what they need and he knows who can reach them. As we follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost we can be lead to here God needs us, where we need to be, the time we need to be there and for the reason we need to be there.

Miracle Number 2: This miracle begins when Sister Cotrim came in the mission 11 short weeks ago. She could not speak much English. Now with my fast speaking English. She is able to know enough English to translate what I didn't understand. I have a Portuguese Book of Mormon that  member gave to me the first week Sister Cotrim was in the mission. I have not read it much, but started today and I was reading from it out loud to Sister Cotrim and she said that my prouncation is very good. The Lord so Good! He is able to show us our talents and help us accomplish His Purpose through us.

Love you all and Hope that you have a great week.

Cordata Park and a week of Miracles

Dear Family and Friends,

Last week we were able to see many miracles. On Monday of last week we went by to see a former, when we went by she was outside watering her garden. She told us that her son had told the missionaries before to stop coming by, but that she didn't want that to stop meeting with the missionaries. I have seen just how important and how valuable it is to go and see formers (those who have been taught before, but stop being taught for a particular reason).

The members in the ward are so amazing. They are very helpful in working with the missionaries. We are trying to meet all the members. There are so many wonderful members that I have met and so many that I haven't met yet. It is cool to see the Lord's work move Forward.

My favorite part about the week is to have been able to hear my companion say the she is starting to feel more confident in the language. I had loved the wonderful opportunity I have had to watch her grow and for that time that I have to continue to watch her grow. I love you all and hope that you have a fantastic week.

Love,

Pressing Forward

Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been one of miracles and also one of sorrows. There is sorrow in your heart when you see a Child of Our Heavenly Father rejects the gospel message that could change their lives and the lives of their families forever. The Gospel is truly a blessing in our lives.
Miracles:

It was a week of miracles because we were able to teach Debbie this week and help her prepare for her Baptismal date. It is amazing to see her progression in the Gospel. She is progressing so much. She have been coming to church and learning so much. We taught her about the Temple and Family History last Tuesday, we had Sister McCready there and  also a member of the Bishopric Brother Peterson, both of who bore powerful testimonies of the temple and the blessings that we receive there.  We also were able to talk to her about helping her family to receive that same ordinances that she is receiving here. She has gotten started on her Family History using the my family Pamphlet used to help people get started. She is excited to go to the Family History center to learn about her Family.

We are striving to work a lot with the members of ward to help us find new investigators.
Finding in our area has been a struggle. We are working hard to find those who are seeking the Lord and His Restored Gospel. We have been working hard to improve our area. I love looking at each day as a new day. Every Day that God blesses us with helps us to become more and more like that Savior. Its a day to remember that blessings given to us from a loving Heavenly Father. We all experience trails and tests in our live that are challenging but as we Press Forward with Faith, relying on the saving Atonement of Jesus Christ we are able to see His hand in our lives everyday.

Love you all,
Sister McGarry III
